Mother and Child Health Programme

Mission and Objectives

The overall Goal of the Programme is “The improvement of maternal and child health in Ukraine”.

Programme Objective: Improved availability, quality, effectiveness and access to promotional, preventive and curative maternal and child health (MCH) services in selected Ukrainian oblasts, rayons and communities. Several thematic components complement each other:

Health Promotion: Adaptation and dissemination of an inter-sectoral model of MCH promotion.

Medical Services: Adaptation, dissemination and implementation of an integrated perinatal care model.

Information Technology: Modern Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) including telemedicine and eLearning will be integrated into the MCH sector.

Management: MCH services management capacity is strengthened.
