To implement the mechanisms which will contribute to better cooperation of the MCHP the Coordination Committees were created. They became an effective instrument of social policy at local level due to their possibility to take strategic decisions and use the potential of the structures involved in MCHP for the sake of improvement of services provided for families during pregnancy, delivery, after-delivery period and public health.
At the same time the training group was created. This group acquired training skills of preparation of the family to childbirth and technologies and contents of counseling of pregnant women using client-centered approach. This group carried out trainings and seminars for 70-80% of health care practitioners of the project rayons and started the courses for pregnant women and their families. According to the conclusions of the project impact evaluation it can be stated that usage of the client-orineted approach and dissemination of the information about the necessity of its implementation on all levels of medical care is one of the conditions of influence on improvement of provision of health care in Ukraine.
A lot of attention was paid to preventional work at the community level, conduction of courses for pregnant women, trainings, seminars, lectures which were held for different categories of population, implementation of the educational technology “peer-to-peer” and courses for parents of young children. Primary prevention, preventive work with population is an essential part of the Component “Intersectoral model of Mothe rand Child Health Promotion”
