ToT for clinicians
Last ToT for clinicians took place in Kiev on 9-11 of February 2010 in the frame of “Integrated perinatal care” component.
Training was devoted to work up training materials on the following issues
- Vaginal birth after Cesarean section;
- Lung ventilation at newborns;
- Medicines for newborns;
- Feeding of newborns.
40 obstetricians and neonatologists, future trainers, took part in the training. Among them there are representatives of NMAPE, Lviv Medical University, partner oblast hospitals, etc.
Programme strategy envisages that based on developed training materials trained groups of trainers will provide series of ‘step-down’ trainings for medical personnel of partner rayon hospitals in 2010. This strategy is based on principles of CME, decentralization of post-graduated education for medical personnel from remote areas, and credit-module practically oriented training.
Afterwards the training, the meeting of working group on training materials took place on 12th of February. The following preliminary prepared modules were discussed: multiple pregnancy and hemorrhagic disorders of newborns. In the end of meeting, the strategy of teaching and principles of trainers’ group formation were discussed; also, members of working group were invited to provide second expert opinion for clinical cases at iPath.
