Programme Activities
The modernisation Programme for maternal and child health comprises a set of interrelated activities:
- Development and dissemination of already elaborated materials (guidelines, policies, teaching materials, etc.).
- Building a strong and skilled clinical and managerial workforce for improved health services.
- Enhancing continuous medical education and knowledge management (including the development of a training package).
- Introducing high scientific standards and patient-orientation.
- Developing effective perinatal network.
- Providing maximum involvement of ICT.
- Improving M&E and quality assurance strategies at local sites.
The Programme works mainly at the primary and secondary levels of care, whereas tertiary level is involved mostly for expertise and supervision.
Local partners of the Programme are the rayons of Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, Volyn oblasts and Crimea (see the map).
